What is Pay-Per-Click?
Pay per click, also known as PPC for short, is an internet marketing strategy that includes advertisers paying for clicks when a prospect decided to click on the ad. This is one of the ways to drive organic traffic into your site without having to worry about fake clicks or bots. One of the most common ways PPC is used is for search advertising.
If you type in a keyword such as “dentist” on Google, the first few results tend to be advertisements. These are PPC ads placed by businesses to promote their sector based on the search in the vicinity. This is accomplished by bidding for respective keywords that relate to dentistry or orthodontics. Being able to rank for specific niche keywords allows your site to rank higher and therefore receive more traffic. Of course, the bidding varies based on how often a keyword is searched, the timeframe of the keyword, if it is seasonal and if the keyword is competitive.
Great PPC Campaigns
A great PPC campaign requires time and effort. In order to be successful, you have to research your audience, track relevant keywords to your advert, and organize them based on where you want to place your ads. Since Google is the most frequently used search engine in the world, it is a no brainer to use it as a platform for advertising. Here are a few steps on how to make the perfect PPC advertisement on Google.
How to Make the Perfect PPC Ad
As stated before, make sure your keyword is relevant to your advertisement. For example, if you are trying to get more clients for your dental office then you should target keywords such as “dentist near me”, “dentists”, “teeth doctor”, “orthodontists”, and “dentists that accept insurance”, just to name a few examples. Of course, you want to look for long-tail keywords as they are the most specific. It shows that the person is very interested in what they are searching for. You want to pop up as the site with that relevant information. Since the keywords mentioned are relevant keywords, based on the search volume, you can bid on them to have a PPC ad placed on the top of the page on google.
If you are doing e-commerce, affiliate marketing, or dropshipping, it is imperative that you have a bridge page. Bridge page is also called a landing page or a call to action page that resonates with what you are advertising. A professional looking page determines whether you receive clicks or not.
Only pay for relevant keywords. You don’t want to burn through your ad budget paying for keywords that have no correlation with your business.
Continue to expand your PPC ad with more keywords that are relevant. Review keywords and see which ones are performing well. You want to cut out keywords that result in no clicks or no traction which will eat up your ad budget.
